Storyboarding

You must design and create the story screens.

Users must be able to:

  • decide when to move on
  • move forward or back one screen at any time
  • go to the navigation screen from any other screen
  • Produce a detailed storyboard for each story screen.

Each storyboard must show:

  • which part of the script the screen is for
  • what the screen will look like
  • navigation features and links
  • description of each asset needed
  • comments to explain your design decisions
  • Get feedback from test users and make changes if necessary.

Download this Storyboard Template

YOU must decide whether you either:

Download the template, delete the red text, print them out, sketch and hand write straight on to the template, then photograph for evidence
- OR -
Use the computer to word process your writing, sketch your drawings on blank paper, photograph, upload and insert into your template

D202 TellTale - Eportfolio & Planning

D202 TellTale - Eportfolio & Planning

For this project you will create a multimedia story that would appeal to children in an age group within the range 5 to 11 years. It could be set in the real world, in a far away land or in outer space. Use your imagination!

The story will consist of:

  • a splash screen
  • a navigation screen
  • the main story
  • a decision point for the user
  • two alternative animated endings You will need to think of a story where the audience can be offered a choice, each of which leads to an animated ending.

Create a folder called D202EPORTFOLIO which contains these three folders:

PRODUCTS
EVIDENCE
PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The eportfolio should include:

a home page showing:
who you are, your candidate number, centre name and number
the title of this SPB (Tell tale, Level 2)
the browser and resolution that should be used to view the eportfolio
links to the context pages.
context pages with commentaries to introduce and link to the required evidence
appropriate multimedia assets on the pages

This is a big project! You need to plan carefully to make sure that you finish everything and meet the deadline.

Produce a detailed project plan. Note that:

"You must do this before you start working on the tasks; a plan produced afterwards will not gain any marks, ask for help if you need it, it's very important to have a workable plan at the start if you don't get it right first time, it is perfectly acceptable to change it as you go along, provided you explain why..." Greenscreening at it's finest!!

Starter

Watch this video from a few years ago (Geography project with Mrs B!) - see how simple it is to green screen...

Main Task

Edit your footage - remember that the footage must be between 1 and 3 minutes long.

How to set up a Premiere Pro project:

  1. Open Adobe Premiere and Select 'New Project'
  2. Select an appropriate location to save your new project (create a folder called 'Unit 203' in your iMedia folder if you haven't already) and give it a suitable name, click OK.

  3. From the New sequence menu select your video type. as a general rule DV Pal and Standard 48 kHz is the best setting for our footage, this should be the setting it appears on when it loads. Give your Sequence a name, Unit 3, for example, click OK.

  4. Go to File > Import and bring in all of your Media (video clips, music. images).
  5. Once you have all of your footage in you can follow the Greenscreen tutorial below
