Packaging Design - Grade It!!

Starter - 10 minutes


In pairs you are going to grade this piece of work.... The closest pair who give the best feedback on the work will receive rewards.....

Grading criteria:

Finding the ‘best fit’
A ‘best fit’ strategy should be used to decide on the mark that best reflects the
extent to which the set of products meets the project requirements.
For 3 marks or more a student must have worked independently.
For 1 mark, a student may have needed guidance, but must have produced some
of the graphic products, demonstrating limited awareness of audience and
purpose.
For 3 marks, a student must have produced a complete set of graphic products.
Each product must:
be suitable for the specified medium
meet most of the specified requirements
use some appropriate combinations of elements.
Students must have commented on some aspects of their designs and given some
indication of what each product would look like.
The set of products must demonstrate some awareness of audience and purpose.

For 5 marks, a student must have produced complete set of graphic products.
Each product must:
be suitable for the specified medium
meet most of the specified requirements
use appropriate combinations of elements.
Students must have commented on the design decisions for each product and
shown what each product would look like.
The set of products must demonstrate good awareness of audience and purpose
and an understanding of legal requirements.
For 7 marks, a student must have produced complete set of graphic products.
Each product must:
be suitable for the specified medium
meet the specified requirements
use effective combinations of elements.
Students must have commented on the design decisions for each product and
shown clearly what each product would look like.
The set of products must demonstrate sound awareness of audience and purpose.
and an understanding of legal requirements.

 Main Task - 45 minutes



Add paper copy and first digital attempt to Design Log and receive feedbackCreate a final copy of your packaging design, add to Design Log and receive feedbackEmail an A4 copy of your packaging design to me as a PDFp.rymill@wildern.hants.sch.uk

Remember....
The packaging design must relate to the style of the shop and include:
  • a photomontage to cover the outside of the packaging
  • the logo
  • the shop name
