Simple Menu Task

L/O 1 - To be able to produce a simple menu in Python

Red - You will have created a simple menu in Python
Amber - You will have added code to your menu to allow the user to choose a menu option
Green - You will have added an infinite loop to your code
Ext - You will have completed Task 1 of your controlled assessment

Starter - 5 minutes

As you are logging on:

1. Read through the worksheet to find out what your RAG tasks are
2. Put your red card up as we are all starting on the same task today
3. Remember eRefs for progress - anyone who finishes the RAG tasks gets a Gold!

Main - 50 minutes

RED

Follow the red task on your worksheet to display a simple menu
Save it in your Python folder as simple_menu.py and press F5 to run the program

What does it show on the screen? How could you change this code to add more options?

AMBER

Follow the amber task on your worksheet to allow the user to choose an option
Save it and press F5 to run the program
What is this code doing? How could you change it for more options?
Add your own message for choices 1–4

GREEN

Follow the green task on your worksheet to allow the user to keep choosing an option
Save it and press F5 to run the program

EXT TASK 1

Follow the blue task to apply the skills you have learnt to developing a main menu for your Population Model program. The options on the main menu should be:

1. Set the Generation 0 values
2. Display the Generation 0 values
3. Run the model
4. Export data
5. Quit.

EXT TASK 2

1. Open your Wildern email - mail.wildern.hants.sch.uk
2. Open your Draw.io flowcharts
3. Which ones do you still need to complete/improve to secure 9 marks for Design of Solution? 
4. Complete Flowcharts for Task 1-6 plus an overview flowchart
