Storyboarding - feedback

L/Os :

To develop a set of storyboards so that you can visualise your gameTo be able to give critical feedback to peersOutcome - You will have completed at least 4 storyboard templates to a high standard and will have feedback on all storyboards completed so far

Starter - 5 minutes


Read the SPB requirements for your storyboards:

STORYBOARDS
You must produce a set of detailed storyboards for your game. 
Create your storyboards and rules for the game. Use the storyboard template to help you.
Make sure your storyboards are detailed enough for others to visualise the finished product.
Make sure that you have included all general rules as well as specific rules for each screen.
Gather feedback and make changes if necessary.
Use your storyboards to record feedback and action taken.
Save your storyboards in your DEVELOPMENT folder.

Do your storyboards meet these requirements? If not how will you need to change them

In today's lesson you should continue to complete the storyboard templates for your game designs:
Menu Screen
Instructions Screens
Back story screen
Level1
Level2
Level3
Level4
Level5
Winning Screen
Losing Screen

TASKS:
Download all of the above storyboards here 
Save them in your Sites folder --> D205SPB12 --> DEVELOPMENT --> STORYBOARDS

Draw each of the screens

Use one of the digital cameras to take a photo(s) of the storyboards you have drawn
Save them in your Sites folder --> D205SPB12 --> DEVELOPMENT --> STORYBOARDS

Start completing the written part of the storyboard templates


EXTENSION: Create storyboards for any other screens you might want in your game, for example:
Option Screen
Character select screen
Pause Screen
Tutorial Level


Plenary - 10 minutes


Swap your storyboards with a test partner
On the back of each storyboard give your partner 2 stars and a wish
Think about:
  • Are the drawings detailed enough?
  • Would they suit the target audience
  • Would they suit the story of the game
