Assembling and photographing: Part 2

L/Os 

To develop a set of photos to showcase your 3D characters

To edit your photographs using appropriate software

OUTCOME - You will take photos of your characters. You will edit the photos to remove the backgrounds from them


Starter - 5 minutes

  • Look at the tasks for today's lesson below - stand by the table of the colour you are working on. What are you going to do in order to progress to the next stage?

Main - 45 minutes


Develop your Hero and Villain designs to include:

  • cut lines
  • fold lines
  • areas to be glued
  • instructions for how to assemble characters 
Receive feedback on design log

Describe HOW you made your characters on your Design Log

Print your nets in colour (P211-1col), assemble and produce photographs from different angles






Using this YouTube video, remove the backgrounds from your photos. Save your photos into your Evidence folder.



Ext: Add your Design log so far to your ePortfolio so that the Progress Tracker can be updated next lesson!

Mini-Plenary - 5 minutes

  1. Swap designs with a Test Buddy
  2. Using your 3D character nets in Adobe Illustrator (Hero/Villain - whichever one) write feedback for each other into the Design Log under the correct image - remember to check that they have met the requirements here: http://www1.edexcel.org.uk/DA203_1309/SPB/Index.htm
  3. Swap back and make improvements

Plenary - 5 minutes

  1. Review your blog post from the starter task - did you achieve your personal targets / move onto the next colour?
  2. How did you use the feedback given?
  3. What have you achieved this lesson?
  4. BLOG IT!!
