ePortfolio banner

L/Os:

To be able to develop a banner for your ePortfolio

To be able to develop software skills

Starter - 10 minutes

You are going to design a banner for your Year 9 ePortfolio this year. Some of you started this last lesson - however, you must draw this onto A4 plain paper first so that I can see your initial design.

There are only TWO rules:

  1. It must have the title 'Heroes and Villains'
  2. It must include some kind of heroes vs villains theme (think back to all of the images you collected last week!)

Main - 43 minutes

Create your banner using either Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Fireworks. Remember that you will not have my help - so which one can you use independently??

  1. Open your choice of software
  2. Select 'File - New'
  3. Set your document up to be 800 pixels x 100 pixels
  4. Get designing!!!
  5. Once you are finished, open your index in Adobe Dreamweaver and add the banner to the top frame (Go to 'Insert - Image')

"Greens For Experts" - Can you provide an expert skill? Help others develop their skills!

Other Tasks:
  • Ensure that your Proposal Form is complete, with feedback
  • Ensure that your website works with all three pages (Home, Evidence and Products) linking!!
  • Link your Proposal Form to your Evidence Page

  • Extension Task:
Write a new post on your blog describing your hero and villain....
    Name
    Gender
    What do they look like
    Human / Animal / Mythical
    What do they wear

    Plenary - 7 minutes

Blog about what you have achieved today
Did you learn any new skills?
What would you improve on if you had more time?
