Setting up/Following Blogs

Starter - 15 min

*Sign up for Apps For Good today!! The club will run 3-4:30pm every Tuesday in 678 starting 1st October*

We will be setting up blogs this lesson. Setting up your own Blogger account is simple if you follow these instructions: 

1. Log into your Wildern email account 
2. You will find Blogger underneath 'More' in the top bar
3. Once in Blogger, add a display name (JoeBloggsICT) and tick to accept the terms
4. Add a Blog Title (JoeBloggsICT) and Blog address (this is the name that you would like to appear in the URL bar)
5. Choose the 'Simple' template (you can change this later if needed)
6. Your blog has been created! You can now create your first blog post using the orange pencil button! Give it a title, some body and click Publish Post to publish it to your blog

Main Task - 40 min

Ensure that you have opened up your ICT Blog

Add your blog address to the Google Drive spreadsheet here:

(Make sure that you have spelt the blog address correctly and if unsure, check it!!)

Extension: Blog about how you could use meta tags* to improve your online reputation...

*Meta tags are a great way for webmasters to provide search engines with information about their sites :-)

Then set up your own meta tags using: Settings - Search Preferences - Meta Tags - Change and then enable the description - that's it!
